Acis nicaeense (syn. Leucojum nicaeense) Only found in SE France and all but extinct in the wild. Spring-flowering with wide white bells on 15cm stems. Now reclassified in a separate genus along with most of its tribe. FS/1st $ 5.00

Acis tingitanum (syn. Leucojum tingitanum) Tall growing species from Morocco. Clusters of large, clean white bells on arching scapes. Easy in dry spot. A rare offering. FS/1st $4.00

Acis valentinum (syn. Leucojum valentinum) Flaring, milky-white flowers on 20 cm stems in autumn. rather like a large L. nicaeense with thready prostrate leaves. A fine garden species FS/1st $ 5.00

Arum albispathum Crimean species with glossy green, unmarked leaves and a pure white spathe sometimes marked externally with green. From a Janis Ruksans collection in North Osethia. Very Few FS/1st $ 4.00

Arum hygrophilum Very attractive, elgant plant with bright green lanceolate leaves, purple spadix and hooded greenish-white spathe finely edged in plum-purple. FS/1st $5.00

Arum pictum The only autumn-flowering species we know of so when everything else is dying down it is on the way up! Large maroon spathe shelters a dark purple, almost black spadix, well above dark green, glossy foliage. FS/1st $5.00

Arum palestinum Rich-green, sagittate leaves with large spathes of velvety, darkest maroonpurple. Sweet-scentedly dark flowered counterpart to A. creticum. FS/1st $5.00

Bellavalia dubia The plants produces a spire of loosely-spaced bells of the most brilliant ultramarine in late spring. This particular species is from Sicily and is bone hardy in our hot dry summers. FS/1st $4.00

Brimeura fastigiata An exquisite little species from Corsica and the only other to share the genus. Dense spikes of wide-open tiny bells in lilac-pink to white in late spring. Rare offering FS/1st $3.00

Brunsvigia josephinae Massive golden stem erupts, phallic-like, from a great fleshy barrel of a bulb in late summer and over a short time bursts forth into a gloriously surreal candelabrum of lipstick-red single-flower heads. Broad, glaucous blue green leaves in winter to early summer. Limit of 1 per person. Size ranges from 6yr olds to 2yrs. First come first serve. $15.00

Chionodoxa forbesii Pink Form The naming of chiondoxa has been muddled over the years. This plant has been sold as C. gigantea for 80 years now the taxonomists tell us it should be C. forbesii a species from the SW of Turkey. Whatever its name - a lovely thing! FS/1st $2.00 or 3 for $5.50

Chionodoxa sardensis A superb species from N. Turkey its rich gentian-blue flowers and a splash of a small white eye conifer upon it the crystalline, almost diaphanous quality of a living gem.

Erythronium dens-canis
The original “Dogs Tooth Violet” and a very rare item in Australia. This European species has deeply mottled leaves and large chunky pink flowers very early in the season. FS/1st $6.00

Geranium macrostyllum A very pretty tuberous geranium from the Mediteranean region. This form is from Ulu Dag, NW Turkey and bears clusters of large clear to deep pink flowers on 30cm stems over much dissected leaves. Lovely thing for the rock garden or the border. FS/1st $ 4.00

Geranium malviflorum Very robust, tall growing species from southern Spain that bears large, violet-purple flowers with darker veins over a dark mat of filigree leaves in late spring-early summer. FS/1st $5.00

Geranium linearlobum ssp transversale Large, violet-purple flowers over finely dissected leaves in late spring. Collected by Janis Ruksans from Mt Chimgan in Uzbekistan. FS/1st $ 5.00

Hermodactylus tuberosus Green and velvetly-black Widow Iris is a fragrant tuberous species that bears unusual and quietly exotic blooms in winter. Hardy outside in Australia. FS/1st $5.00

Merendera montana An easy and uncommon little autumn flowering bulb closely related to colchicums. Neat, bright purplish-pink flowers which open flat, followed by a few dark narrow leaves. Good Increaser FS/1st $ 4.00

Merendera sobolifera Abundance of dainty pinkish-white flowers arises amid short narrow leaves from twiggy corms in spring. Stoloniferous, spreading gently to form large colonies. FS/1st $5.00

Romulea hartungii (syn. R. grandiscapa) Mid-sized, purple-blue stars with yellow throat over neat, wiry foliage in spring. Easy in a sunny pocket. Much neglected but rewarding genus, this species is from the Canary Islands. FS/1st $3.50

Scilla bifolia The earliest of all the scillas pushing up itís bright blue buds in the chill of winter along with the snowdrops, a perfect companionship. 3 for $2.50

Scilla messanensis Rare listing of this very local plant found only in a few Isolated corners of the Mani peninsula, Greece, these are from the Viros Gorge near Kardimili. Spring flowers of the palest milky-blue over lush, bright green strappy foliage. FS/1st $4.00

Scilla morrisii Rare species endemic to Cyprus that is now Red Listed. Erect stems carry loose clusters of 3-5 campanulate flowers in milky-white, tinged lilac, with pale blue anthers. One for the collectors. Limit of 1 per customer FS/1st $6.00
