Anthriscus sylvestris "Ravenswing" An outstanding form of the common cow parsley and a great candidate for the herbaceous border. Lacy mounds of chocolate coloured leaves over which are held airy umbels of white, thistledown flowers throughout spring and summer. $4.00

Arisaema sikokianum One of the most dramatic of all the arisaemas. Bears in late spring a large purple-brown flower flattened like a cobra's head and vertically striped snow-white. Campanula alpina A native of the Austrian alps, this species has a short branching stem bearing bearded lilac-lavender bells. Happiest in a limy poor soil. $6.00

Campanula calaminthifolia A prostrate species from Crete and other Greek islands. Diminutive blue flowers are produced along the trailing stems. $6.00

Daphne sericea Collected as seed in central Crete here is a rare chance to obtain one of the true gems of the genus. Makes a medium-size, dense shrublet with pointed, grey-green leaves, smothered with rose-pink, scented flowers in spring, and followed by orange fruit. $10.00


Eryngium bourgatii "Picos Blue" Stunningly beautiful thistle-like perennial with deeply cut, variegated foliage and long lasting, intense blue flowers. Easier and much more adaptable than E. alpinum. $5.00


Euphorbia rigida Collected as seed in the central Peleponnese this is a much esteemed species with erect, sculptured stems of spirally arranged, pointed, fleshy leaves to 30cm. Striking acidyellow to soft orange heads over blue-grey foliage in spring. $5.00

Iris pallida "Variegata" Highly prized for both its fragrant violet-blue flower and its strikingly showy tri-coloured foliage. The stiff upright leaves are vertically striped with ribbons of green, white and cream. Adds colour and contrast to the garden from spring through late autumn. $5.00


Iris wilsonii A little Chinese treasure that prefers a damp home. The light yello w flowers are veined and dotted brown and are slightly larger than those of I. forrestii we have previously listed. Limit of 1 per customer $6.00



Meconopsis prattii These have not flowered for us yet but all indications are they will be true to name. A tall and elegant species with blue/violet blooms. $8.00


Paeonia mascula ssp hellenica (var. hellenica) A rare chance to obtain this magnificent species which is a native of a handful of sites in Greece. Big, sumptuous, crinkly, white flowers with red and yellow stamens over bold, blue-green foliage. These are 2 year old seedlings with 3 years to
