Welcome to Hill View and Pen-Lan's Ninth Winter Catalogue
- this cancels the Summer Catalogue
Are you tired of all the bad news lately? What with swine flu, the Global Financial Crisis, and our
government giving away our money to the long departed (both geographically and existentially),
not to mention having to watch our hard won Super swiftly slide to supine, it's enough to crush the
spirit of even the most optimistic among us. But wait, before you reach for that razor or even worse
switch on to a steady drip-feed of American sitcoms and back series re-runs of America's Next Top
Model, there's help at hand with our ninth winter catalogue.
We are very excited about this list and
we hope dear customer that you are too. We have added some gems to the lily range, including
two stunning Japanese rarities L. rubellum and L. japonicum and we think we have held our own
high standards with the hellebores and auriculas that we have on offer. "But wait ...", as they say
in the ads that far too often intersperse those American sitcoms, "there's more!"
This year we have put together possibly the best primula list this country's gardeners are ever likely to see between
the pages of a catalogue. Some of these treasures include the much sought after P. frondosa, the huge candelabra-flowered P. florindae, as well as the gloriously farinated hybrid, which arose at Kew Gardens, P. kewensis. And if that wasn't enough we have thrown in at the end a treasure trove of wonderful garden plants, including a couple of paeonies, a daphne, a clutch of campanulas, a blue poppy, as well as a blue thistle. We hope you enjoy this year's offerings.
Kind regards
